The aforementioned under-display camera is expected to debut first on the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5, then on the iPhone 15 Pro, and possibly the Pro Max.
The new material enables Apple to open "microscopic transparent windows in the cathode and OLED pixel layers," effectively making the display transparent and allowing the selfie camera and Face ID sensors to be placed beneath it.
As a result, no notch or hole-punch screen real estate would be available. It's unclear whether the standard model will have the same under-display camera, a notch, or a dual punch-hole design.
