The Surface Laptop 5 was formally unveiled on Wednesday at the Microsoft Surface October event. For the first time on a Surface Laptop, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity is available on the new laptop. The company unveiled two screen sizes of the Surface Laptop 5, one with a 13.5-inch display and the other with a 15-inch display. The Microsoft laptop is equipped with a 12th-generation Intel Core processor. It has been co-engineered and identified as an Intel Evo device for the first time. For each size variation, there are two different color options.
Price and availability of the Surface Laptop 5
Microsoft introduced the Surface Laptop 5 at its October Surface event. Each model of the laptop comes in two different sizes and two different color schemes. The 13.5-inch model comes with a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. On the other hand, the commercial model lets you choose between the Core i5-1245U and Core i7-1265U. However, there is only a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor in the 15-inch laptop.
The 13.5-inch Surface Laptop 5 model has a starting price of $999.99 (roughly Rs. 82,280), while the 15-inch model has a starting price of $1,299.99. (nearly Rs. 1,06,900). A laptop for business purposes costs $100 more than one for personal use (roughly Rs. 8,200). For laptops with 13.5-inch displays, Platinum Alcantara and Metal Black are the color choices, while Platinum Metal and Black Metal are offered for models with 15-inch displays.
The laptop’s official release date is October 25. But Microsoft has already started taking pre-orders for all variations.
Specifications for the Surface Laptop 5
As was already mentioned, the Surface Laptop 5 has a 13.5-inch and 15-inch touchscreen display. The 12th Gen Intel Core i5/i7 processors on the Intel Evo platform are said to give the laptop exceptional speed. There is also Thunderbolt 4 connectivity available. The laptop comes with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of removable storage.
The battery life of the 13-inch model is expected to last up to 18 hours, while the battery life of the 15-inch model is expected to last up to 17 hours on a single charge. A Surface Connect port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and support for USB Type-C and Type-A are all included with the Surface Laptop 5.
