Microsoft was allegedly developing a “lite” version of the Surface Duo 2, which was recently rumored to have been listed on eBay. The allegedly leaked phone has a dual-camera array on the back and a plastic exterior, according to the images. There are no additional details about this device’s specifications in the purported eBay listing. It appears that this Surface Duo 2 model is a “dev unit.” Since the company allegedly canceled this device in 2021, we might not be able to get our hands on it.
Windows Central claims that a Microsoft Surface Duo 2 model recently appeared on eBay. Notably, the phone appears to have a matte-finished plastic exterior with rounded corners. Additionally, it is rumored to have flat displays without the glance bar and a dual rear camera setup. According to reports, the purported listing, which has since been removed, made no mention of this handset’s specifications. This product might have been a Microsoft mid-range product. However, the report claims that the business canceled it in 2021. This variant, allegedly under the codename “Cronos,” was expected to launch later this year at a lower cost than the Surface Duo 2. It might have included a Qualcomm SoC from the upper midrange.
Comparatively, the Surface Duo 2 was introduced in September of last year and cost $1,499 (roughly Rs. 1,20,000). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC serves as its power source. The smartphone has two 5.8-inch PixelSense displays that, when combined, provide an 8.3-inch viewing area. It has a glance bar as well, which enables users to check for notifications even when the phone is folded. A 12-megapixel selfie camera and three 16-megapixel cameras are included in the Surface Duo 2. It has a strong metallic frame and a glass exterior.
