Google Pixel 7 Pro design was revealed after a vendor accidentally sent the customer a prototype rather than the Pixel 6 Pro

The Google Pixel 7 series was acknowledged by Google at the I/O 2022 developer conference, and it was mentioned that the lineup would launch in the second half of the year, most likely in the fall. Despite the extended wait, we continue to get sporadic leaks and rumors that give us indications of what to expect. In anticipation of the official launch, the Google Pixel 7 Pro prototype has recently appeared online. The backstory is equally fascinating. Along with some hardware details, we get to see the phone in its entirety.

More specifically, a user on Twitter claims that his friend bought the Google Pixel 6 Pro from Facebook Marketplace. After waiting for almost two months, the user finally received the delivery, but much to his surprise, it wasn’t the Pixel 6 Pro but the brand-new Google Pixel 7 Pro.

As seen in the images the Twitter user posted, the smartphone is encased in a hard case that largely hides the design elements. However, he also shared a different image of the rear design without a case.

The Google Pixel 6’s rear camera design has been slightly altered, and there is no rear “G” logo on the prototype product. It is offered in a new Black color option and has a glass back. The picture depicts Android 13 and the word “cheetah” for the upcoming device (Tiramisu). One plausible explanation for this circumstance is that the seller is an original equipment manufacturer supplier for the Pixel 7 series.

The thrill of receiving a never-before-seen product, though, was quickly over because Google remotely erased the phone and uninstalled the Android 13 update. Because the Google Pixel 7 Pro is currently stuck in the bootloader, no help will be provided by Google. The phone may return to usable condition after Google launches it this fall.

Specifications for the Google Pixel 7 Pro (expected)

Specifications for the Google Pixel 7 Pro have previously leaked online. It is said to have a punch-hole cutout, a 6.7-inch LTPO 2.0 QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and slim bezels. It is rumored to come with a 48MP telephoto camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP main camera. A brand-new Tensor 2nd generation chipset, at least 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage will all be included in the box. Android 13 will likely be pre-installed on the Pixel 7 Pro.
