According to recent statements made by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the company will release a smartphone in July that uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is widely thought to be the name of the upcoming smartphone, even though the company hasn’t officially confirmed it.
As was already mentioned, the primary details of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra leaked earlier this month. According to reports, the smartphone’s 6.7-inch AMOLED screen can refresh at up to 120Hz. A previous leak indicated that the device would have a 6.6-inch curved AMOLED 2K (1,440×3,200 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 1,700 nits.
Recall that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, along with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.
According to rumors, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have three rear cameras, the most notable of which will be a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). A 48-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom are said to be included. It’s possible to have a second time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and laser AF. For selfies and video calls, the Xiaomi smartphone is expected to have a 20-megapixel front camera. An earlier this month published report suggested that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra might be the first smartphone to sport the recognizable red Leica logo.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to come with a 4,800mAh battery that supports 50W wireless charging and 67W wired charging. A report from February claims that the phone will have a 4,860mAh battery and 120W fast charging. The phone is anticipated to have a dual speaker setup and come pre-installed with Android 12.
