The addition of telephoto camera upgrades to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus by Samsung after four long years would have been appreciated. Despite claims to the contrary, the telephoto cameras on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus are reportedly the same. However, the company may upgrade the selfie camera.
Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus’s telephoto camera will continue to have a 3x optical zoom
According to rumors, Samsung will provide the same telephoto setup, which includes a 10MP sensor and up to 3x optical zoom, as it did this year for Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus. These specifications, which were found by GalaxyClub, may be a sign that the Korean phone maker has no intention of putting expensive cameras in the aforementioned models. By making this decision, the company will have more time to concentrate on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is said to have a 200MP main rear camera.
The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus may retain the identical 50MP primary camera as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, though it is unknown whether Samsung will use the same sensor or a newer one. Without regard to the number of megapixels, smartphone cameras typically rely on the physical size of the sensor, the size of the pixels individually, and other factors to help improve the image and video quality.

Samsung can continue to provide the same 50MP primary camera and 10MP telephoto lenses for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus, but the company can also launch better software magic that more efficiently processes images. The ultrawide camera could use an upgrade as well, though we don’t believe that will happen. This is because Samsung is likely to heavily market the Galaxy S23 Ultra in 2023 as opposed to the other two models.
Both of Samsung’s upcoming flagships may be powered by the Exynos 2300 chip, though some products sold in particular regions might use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip instead. That is all the information we currently have, but more will likely become available in the coming weeks.
