God of War Ragnarok, one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the year, may have been delayed yet again by Santa Monica Studios. The game was supposed to come out in 2021, but it was pushed back to 2022 due to a slew of issues, including an injury to actor Christopher Judge (Kratos).
According to Gamereactor, the release date for God of War Ragnarok has been pushed back to 2023. This is based on Gamereactor’s European sources. PlayStation will make an announcement later this summer in conjunction with the rumoured The Last of Us Remake, according to the report.
The game’s placeholder release date on the PSN backend database has been updated to reflect a December (placeholder) release, according to PlayStation Game Size.

PlayStation Game Size keeps track of game release dates and download sizes on the PlayStation Network backend. The release date for GOW: Ragnarok had been listed as September as a placeholder, but it now appears that the date has been changed to December. It’s impossible to predict whether the game will be released this year or next.
At the PlayStation 5 Reveal Event, the game was first revealed with a 2021 release date, which surprised almost everyone in the community. Simply because the game’s release date appeared to be much closer to its 2018 predecessor than fans had expected.
Because God of War Ragnarok is one of SIE’s most important first-party exclusives, it’s only natural that they’ll take as much time as they can with it. Santa Monica Studios’ God of War PS4 and PC releases in 2018 proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the studio can still deliver generation-defining hits.
