Google announced its first-ever smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, at the Google I/O 2022 conference. It will go live in the next few months all over the world. Unlike Apple Watch, Pixel Watch will have a circular display, according to the company. According to 9to5google, Samsung’s Exynos 9110 SoC will power this Google smartwatch. This chipset was first introduced with the Galaxy Watch in 2018.
According to the report, Google is using an old chip in this smartwatch that has been in the works for quite some time. Exynos 9110 SoC is a 10nm chipset with two Cortex-A53 cores for the uninitiated.
Features of the Google Pixel Watch
Pixel Watch, unlike Apple Watch, has a circular display, a metal frame, slim bezels, and a crown on the right edge, according to images shared by the company at Google I/O 2022. The smartwatch is made of 80 percent recycled stainless steel, according to Google. The Pixel Watch is expected to come in black, gold, and grey colours.
The Pixel Watch will be powered by Google’s WearOS UI, which will feature fluid navigation and smart notifications. Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Wallet will all be supported. Users will be able to answer calls, make calls, send messages, pay, control their home, and more–all from their wrist, according to the company.
The Home app for Wear OS will make this smartwatch compatible with smart home devices. As a result, you’ll be able to control these devices from the palm of your hand.
