OnePlus recently announced that a launch event will be held in India at the end of the month. While the company has only hinted that it will launch a few phones, most likely a pair of low-cost TWS, there has been no official word on the products set to launch in India. OnePlus has now confirmed the names of the two phones that will be released: the OnePlus 10R and the OnePlus Nord 2 CE Lite.
Anyway, the OnePlus 10R is expected to be the phone’s successor to the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 9RT. The OnePlus 9RT was only released a few months ago, but it already has a successor.
The OnePlus 10R will most likely be the OnePlus 10 series’ most affordable device. The phone will offer OnePlus’ trademark “fast and smooth experience” at a more affordable price.
The OnePlus 10R will be available in two versions, according to the company. The first one is expected to arrive with a 150W fast charger and a 4,500mAh battery. This 150W charging technology, according to OnePlus, will be able to charge the phone from zero to 100 percent in just 17 minutes. The standard model, on the other hand, will have an 80W charging system.
When Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 11i lineup in India, it used a similar strategy. While Xiaomi’s phone has a 125W charger, OnePlus’s phone has a 150W charger – strangely, both companies claim that the phone can be charged in 17 minutes.

When it comes to the company’s second device, the Nord 2 CE Lite, the phone has been confirmed to come with a 5000mAh battery and support for 33W fast charging. The company describes this phone as an “endurance performer” that will provide “a little more than you expect,” though it hasn’t revealed much else about it.
Many firsts for OnePlus…and more to come
While OnePlus has confirmed the OnePlus 10R’s key features, the company is planning to launch the same phone in China under the name OnePlus Ace.
This is the first time that a OnePlus phone may be known by different names in different parts of the world. Probably, the company wants to maintain the international brand identity that it has developed over the last few years.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 10R will be the first phone to feature MediaTek’s new Dimensity SoCs. According to rumors, the phone will be powered by a Dimensity 8100 SoC. This SoC has already been released in China, where it has received a lot of positive feedback.
This is also the first time a Realme phone has been rebranded as a OnePlus device. Given that OnePlus has always catered to the upper echelon of the market, it’s a little surprising to see the company borrow devices from the lower end of the market. For the first time, the 150W charging technology was also seen in the Realme GT Neo 3.
In addition, this is the first OnePlus phone to be released without an alert slider. The alert slider, along with fast charging and a smooth interface, has been OnePlus’s USP, except for the low-end Nord phones.
Given that the three brands – Oppo, OnePlus, and Realme – are working together, we can expect to see many more firsts in the future.
