OnePlus Nord 3 is expected to launch globally in Q2 of 2022

At MWC 2022, members of the BBK family, Realme and Oppo, demonstrated their 150W fast-charging technologies, which can fully charge a 4,500mAh battery in just 15 minutes.

OnePlus, a member of the same family has announced that a smartphone with 150W fast charging will be released soon. So far, here’s what we’ve discovered.

The OnePlus Nord 3 could come with 150W fast charging!

According to a press conference held during the Mobile World Congress 2022 trade show, OnePlus and Oppo have collaborated on a 150W charging solution, which will debut in the future OnePlus phone in ‘Q2’, around April, May, or June.

However, the company does not reveal the device’s name or full specifications. The device, according to Android Central, could be from the Nord series, most likely the Nord 3. The phone is said to be based on the Realme GT Neo 3, which featured 150W fast charging and was shown off at MWC.

According to a report by Pricebaba in collaboration with tipster Mukul Sharma, a OnePlus smartphone with 150W charging support will be released in India by the end of May or early June.

Founder and CEO Pete Lau stated in the same forum post outlining the improvements coming to OxygenOS that the technology “will debut first on a OnePlus smartphone in the second quarter of 2022.”

Oppo’s 150W SuperVOOC charging technology (likely to be used on the upcoming OnePlus device) can charge a 4500mAh battery in 15 minutes, which is less than half the time it takes to charge a 65W battery (38 minutes). The same technology can charge your phone to half of its capacity, or 50%, in just five minutes.

The 150W technology is powered by OPPO’s proprietary charger, which, like all previous implementations, is powered by two charge pumps. The dual-cell architecture will be maintained, and the 150W adapter will deliver a 20V/7.5A charge that will be split in half to charge the two cells at the same time. Each charge pump converts a 20V/3.75A charge for the phone’s battery to a 5V/15A charge.
