iPhone SE (2022) Powered by A15 Bionic Chip Launched

After months of speculation, Apple’s latest budget iPhone model, the iPhone SE (2022), was finally unveiled as the company’s latest budget iPhone model on Tuesday (March 8) at a virtual Apple event. The new iPhone SE is the successor to the iPhone SE (2020), which was released in April 2020. The iPhoneSE (2022) supports 5G and is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, which was released last year. In contrast, the previous model had 4G connectivity and an A13 Bionic processor. On the back, the iPhone SE (2022) has a better camera. Aside from the three major hardware upgrades, the new iPhone SE follows the design language of the previous model, which was released nearly two years ago.

Price and availability of the iPhone SE (2022) in India

In India, the iPhone SE (2022)’s base 64GB model costs Rs. 43,900. The new iPhone is also available in 128GB and 256GB capacities.

In the United States, the iPhone SE (2022) costs $429. (roughly Rs. 33,000).

The new iPhone SE will be available for pre-order starting this Friday in select markets, including India, in three colours: Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT) RED.

The iPhone SE (2020) with 64GB storage was released at a starting price of Rs. 42,500. It was also available in 128GB and 256GB storage capacities for Rs. 47,800 and Rs. 58,300, respectively. The final model, with a starting price of $399, was also released in the United States (roughly Rs. 30,700).

Along with the new iPhoneSE, Apple introduced a new green colour option for the iPhone 13 and Alpine Green for the iPhone 13 Pro families (2022).

Specifications for the iPhone SE (2022)

The iPhone SE (2022) has iOS 15 installed. The Smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display. Overall, the display of the iPhone SE (2022) appears to be the same as that of the previous iPhone SE model. The front and back of the new iPhone SE, on the other hand, are said to have the “toughest glass in a smartphone.” The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro both have the same glass protection. In addition, the new model is built to IP67 standards.

The A15 Bionic chip, which is also found in the iPhone 13 series, powers the iPhoneSE (2022). The new iPhone SE’s A15 Bionic chip is said to provide up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance than the iPhone 8. Live Text is one of the features included. The new iPhone has a single 12-megapixel camera sensor on the back, similar to the previous iPhone SE, with an f/1.8 lens. On the other hand, the rear camera sensor has been improved, including improved visual processing.

The iPhone SE (2022)’s rear camera supports Deep Fusion as one of the features. It also has Smart HDR 4 for stills and can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. The camera is also shielded by a sapphire crystal lens cap.

For selfies and video chats, the iPhone SE (2022) has a front-facing FaceTime HD camera.

5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a Lightning port are all available on the iPhone SE (2022). Onboard, there are sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, three-axis gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Like the previous model, the iPhone SE (2022) has a Touch ID button with a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The new iPhone SE is said to have “all-day battery life,” though Apple hasn’t specified how long that means. On the other hand, the iPhone SE (2020) was rated to last up to 13 hours of video and 40 hours of audio playback on a single charge.

The new iPhone SE supports the Qi standard for wireless charging. There’s also fast wired charging.
