The Mac Studio, which features an all-new M1 Ultra processor, was recently unveiled by Apple. The new M-series chip was the most recent addition to the M1 series. Soon, Apple is expected to release new MacBooks with the new M2 chip. Apple was rumored to be working on a new MacBook Air and a Pro model with an M2 processor. The launch date, however, appears to have been pushed back even further.
The new MacBook Air M2 will not be released until the second half of 2022, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via MacRumors).
The launch of the Apple MacBook Air M2 has been postponed
The new MacBook Air M2 was expected to be released in the first half of 2022, according to reports. However, the launch is expected to be postponed for a few months. The new M2-powered Air will be unveiled in the second half of 2022, according to Gurman. Apple is expected to release the 13-inch MacBooks later this year, according to 9to5Mac.
The upcoming entry-level MacBook, according to reports, will have a new design. Stalen is the codename for it, and the model number is J413. Similar to the MacBook Pro M1 Pro and M1 Max models, Apple will release a laptop with MagSafe support. The 13.3-inch display on the Air laptop will be surrounded by thick white bezels. It will keep its white keyboard layout and two USB Type-C Thunderbolt ports.
Production of the Air is expected to begin in the late second or early third quarter, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This suggests that Apple’s new M2 laptop will be available in September or October. The M1 models, on the other hand, will be available in November of 2020.
Along with the Air, Apple may release a 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2-powered processor. On the M2 Pro model, Apple will keep only two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, and the base Pro model will not include a ProMotion display. Other details about the laptop are unknown. As soon as more information becomes available, it will be released.
