Apple Mac Studio, Mac Studio Display Powered by M1 Ultra chip launched

At its Peek Performance event, Apple unveiled a slew of new products, including the iPhone SE (2022), Studio Display, and more. One of the main highlights of today’s event was the new Mac Studio, which starts a completely new Apple Mac PC. The Apple Mac Studio resembles the Mac Mini in appearance, but it has a slightly larger body and significantly more power.

Price for Mac Studio and Studio Display

The M1 Max variant of Mac Studio costs $1,999, while the M1 Ultra variant costs $3,999.

In India, the Mac Studio starts at Rs 1,89,900 for the M1 Max model and Rs 3,89,900 for the M1 Ultra model.

The new Studio Display has a starting price of $1,599. In India, the Standard Glass variant costs Rs 1,59,900, while the nano-texture glass variant costs Rs 1,89,900.

Starting March 18, the new Mac Mini and Studio Display will be available.

Specifications for Mac Studio

The Mac Studio is available in two versions: one with the M1 Max chip and the other with the new M1 Ultra chipset. The new Mac Studio with M1 Max, according to Apple, is 50 percent faster than a 16-core Xeon Mac Pro and 2.5 times faster than a Core i9 27-inch iMac. It also claims that the M1 Ultra configuration is up to 60% faster than the Mac Pro and over 3.8 times faster than the 27-inch iMac.

It has four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10 GB Ethernet port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and an audio jack on the back. The M1 Max variant has two USB Type-C ports on the front, while the M1 Ultra variant has two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 are two options for connectivity.

For the base model, the M1 Max comes with 32GB of unified memory (basically RAM) and 512GB of SSD storage. The M1 Ultra’s base configuration includes 64GB of unified memory and 1TB of SSD storage. Monterey is the operating system that runs Mac Studio.

Specifications for the Studio Display

Apple also unveiled the new Studio Display, which is aimed at professionals, alongside the Mac Studio. A 27-inch 5K display is housed inside an aluminum frame on the Studio Display. It can reach 600 nits of brightness, has P3 wide colour gamut support, and supports the company’s TrueTone feature, according to the company.

The 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for video conferencing sits above the 27-inch display. A three-mic array is also included. It has three USB Type-C ports on the back, as well as one Thunderbolt 4 port that supports up to 96W passthrough charging.

A powerful six-speaker system with four woofers and two tweeters is included with the Studio Display. It also has an embedded A13 chip for better performance with Apple’s Mac desktops and laptops, as well as features like Center Stage, spatial audio, and voice commands like “Hey Siri.”
