Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, S Pen Support Officially Launched

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 virtual event on Wednesday, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ are the company’s successors to the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+, which debuted in 2020. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, on the other hand, is a brand-new model in the lineup that is designed to offer a better experience. On the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series, 5G connectivity is an option. The S Pen on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra was upgraded.

Price and availability of Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is available for $699.99 (roughly Rs. 52,400), $899.99 (roughly Rs. 67,300), and $1,099.99. (roughly Rs. 82,300). Pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S8 series will begin at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, and sales will begin on February 25 in select markets including the United States, Europe, and South Korea, according to Samsung.

There will be two versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will be available in three different configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and the top-of-the-line 16GB + 512GB.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ come in three colours: Graphite, Pink Gold, and Silver, with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra coming in only Graphite.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra have yet to be priced and made available in India.

In August 2020, Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+, with a starting price of EUR 699. (approximately Rs. 59,800).

Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 series, its new Android flagship phones. Samsung also released the Book Cover Keyboard, Book Cover Keyboard Slim, Book Cover, Protective Standing Cover, Note View Cover, and Strap Cover for the Galaxy Tab S8 models.

On top of One UI Tab 4, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 runs Android 12. There’s a 4nm octa-core SoC under the hood, which is most likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 according to recent reports. Up to 12GB of RAM can be supported by the SoC.

Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port are among the connectivity options. There are sensors onboard such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and hall sensor. A dedicated fingerprint sensor is built into the tablet’s side.

For a better multimedia experience, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 has quad stereo speakers with AKG and Dolby Atmos support. There are three microphones on board as well. The tablet also has an improved DeX mode, which allows for more resizing and transparent windows in apps. It has a touchscreen and can be used as a second monitor for online classes. It also has a screen and face dual recording feature.

The battery on the Galaxy Tab S8 is 8,000mAh and supports Super Fast Charging 2.0. (up to 45W). The tablet’s dimensions are 165.3×253.8×6.3mm. It weighs 503 g (Wi-Fi only) and 507 g (all variants combined) (5G option).

The One UI Tab 4 on Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S8+ is based on Android 12. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 12.4-inch WQXGA+ (2,800×1,752 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 266ppi. An octa-core processor and up to 12GB of RAM are included in the tablet. The dual rear camera setup on the Galaxy Tab S8 is the same, with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 6-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. A flashing LED is also included.

For video calls, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the front.

Internal storage on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ can be expanded with a microSD card up to 256GB (up to 1TB). Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port are among the connectivity options, which also include 5G and 4G LTE (optional). Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and hall sensor.

Unlike the regular Galaxy Tab S8, the Galaxy Tab S8+ has an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Three microphones and quad stereo speakers are also included in the Galaxy Tab S8+. It has a 10,090mAh battery with Super Fast Charging 2.0 support (up to 45W). Furthermore, the tablet measures 185x285x5.7mm and weighs 567 grams.

Like the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra runs Android 12 with One UI Tab 4 on top. The tablet, on the other hand, has a 14.6-inch WQXGA+ (2,960×1,848 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 240ppi and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It features the same 4nm octa-core SoC and up to 16GB of RAM as the other two models.

On the back of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, there are two cameras: a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 6-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The camera comes with a built-in LED flash.

Unlike the other two models in the series, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has a dual-camera setup on the front with 12-megapixel wide and ultra-wide shooters. The camera setup is available on a display notch.

Samsung has provided up to 512GB of internal storage on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 1TB). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. 5G and 4G LTE connectivity are also available. Among the other sensors on the tablet are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and hall sensor. A fingerprint sensor is also hidden beneath the display.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is equipped with AKG-tuned quad stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. On the table, there are three microphones. The battery on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is 11,200mAh and supports Super Fast Charging 2.0. The dimensions of the tablet are 208x6x326.4×5.5mm. It weighs 726 g (Wi-Fi only) and 728 g (all variants combined) (5G model).
