Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in India

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be launched worldwide on February 9. Samsung will release three new flagship devices: the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Samsung is expected to launch its flagship smartphones in India soon after the global unveiling. According to a recent leak, the devices will be released in India in March 2022. A new leak from PriceBaba and tipster Ishan Agarwal has surfaced online while we wait for the official launch date to be confirmed.

In India, Samsung may surprise customers by releasing the S22 series with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. For years, the company has been releasing flagship models in India with an Exynos processor. The S22 series, on the other hand, may be the first Samsung flagship smartphone in India to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship processor in years.

Both the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoCs have a 1+3+4 architecture and are manufactured at 4nm. However, over time, the Exynos variant has lagged behind its Snapdragon counterpart in terms of performance and efficiency. Continuous component shortages, which may have hampered the production of the Exynos 2200, could be one reason for the Snapdragon variant’s release.

Samsung has not released any information about the Snapdragon variant that will be available in India. As a result, it’s best to hold off on the official unveiling of the devices for a few days.

Specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Series

All three Samsung smartphones will come preloaded with OneUI 4.1, which is based on Android 12. The top-end model of the S22 Ultra will come with a 6.8-inch AMOLED curved 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A hole-punch cutout in the top center will house the 40MP front camera. On the back, there’s a quad-camera setup with a 108MP main camera. There will be a 12MP ultrawide camera and two 10MP telephoto sensors with 3x and 10x optical zoom. A 5000mAh battery will power the phone, which will support 45W fast charging.

The S22 will have a 6.1-inch display on the front and a triple-camera setup on the back. The S22 Plus will have a larger 6.6-inch screen than the S22. Both devices will have Full HD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera setup will consist of a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. The devices will come with a 10MP front camera.

The S22 will have a 3700 mAh battery with 25W fast charging, while the Plus model will have a 4500 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
