The OnePlus 10 Ultra concept render has leaked online, giving us our first look at the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone. The OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone is already available in China, with a global launch (including India) scheduled for March. Ahead of its global launch, concept renders of the OnePlus 10 Ultra, the company’s more premium variant, have surfaced online.
Expected Features of the OnePlus 10 Ultra
One of the most important aspects to consider is the main, rear camera module, which appears to have a 5x telephoto unit. The smartphone is expected to be very similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, which was already released in China, with a few minor tweaks. For example, the camera unit could have a longer optical zoom range than the ‘Pro’ version. The 48MP primary camera and the 50MP ultra-wide camera are expected to remain unchanged in the ‘Ultra’ variant.
The chipset, which is rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 ‘Plus,’ is another significant difference in the Ultra variant. The latter has yet to be officially announced, but it will be in the coming weeks. The chipset is a slightly improved version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC found in the OnePlus 10 Pro, and it has the potential to deliver better performance.
Oppo’s new MariSilicon X neural processing unit (NPU) is expected to power the OnePlus 10 Ultra’s image processing algorithms, among other things. This year, OnePlus cameras are expected to retain their Hasselblad branding, and it will be interesting to see how the partnership has progressed. When the latter was unveiled alongside the OnePlus 9 series, the two companies announced a multi-year partnership to develop their smartphone camera technologies.
OnePlus has increasingly partnered with Oppo, its fellow brand, for a variety of branding and services. Oppo is also rumored to be considering bringing the ‘Hasselblad’ branding to its own flagship phones, as well as tighter integration of its custom Android software experience.
