Honor Magic 4 Series Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC Launched at MWC 2022

At an event held in conjunction with MWC 2022 on Monday, the Honor Magic 4 series, which includes the Honor Magic 4 and Honor Magic 4 Pro smartphones, was unveiled globally. The Honor Magic 4 series includes Qualcomm’s flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, as well as 50-megapixel primary cameras. The phones feature an AI-powered Magic UI 6 operating system as well as a ‘Just Say to Me’ feature. Face unlock and a second-generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication are included in the Pro model, as well as 100W wired and wireless charging.

The Honor Magic 4 Pro starts at EUR 1,099 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model (roughly Rs. 93,000). The Honor Magic 4 costs EUR 899 and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (roughly Rs. 76,000). The phones are available in a range of colours, including Black, Cyan, Gold, White, and a unique Orange (Vegan Leather). Honor hasn’t said anything about the other Honor Magic 4 variants or whether they’ll be available in other markets.

Specifications of the Honor Magic 4 Pro

The Honor Magic 4 Pro runs Magic UI 6.0, which is based on Android 12. It comes with a 6.81-inch Flex OLED quad-curved display with a resolution of 1,213×2,848 pixels and Motion Sync technology, which reduces the refresh rate from 120Hz to 1Hz automatically. According to the company, it has a 360Hz touch sampling rate, 460ppi density, and an upgraded HDR Effect that automatically upgrades video quality from SDR to HDR and HDR to HDR+. The phone is also said to have the world’s first LTPO display with 1920Hz Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) Dimming.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC that includes Honor’s GPU Turbo X technology, which enables industry-first AI Super Rendering in Mobile Gaming. The SoC comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Honor Magic 4 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the back, as well as a dTOF (time of flight) and flicker sensor. Many of the features of the Honor Magic Pro are carried over to the Honor Magic 4. The display is similar to the iPhone’s, but the resolution is lower at 1,224 x 2,664 pixels. The smartphone’s processing power is comparable to that of the Pro model.

The most significant difference is in the camera department. Two 50-megapixel cameras are included, one with a wide 7P lens and the other with a 122-degree ultra-wide lens. A 50x digital zoom lens is paired with the third sensor, which has an 8-megapixel resolution. There’s also a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with a 100-degree field-of-view.

The Honor Magic 4 has the same 4,800mAh battery as the Honor Magic 3 and supports 66W fast charging. This model also meets IP68 standards for dust and water resistance. For connectivity, both phones have dual-band Wi-Fi, 5G, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
