Motorola Teases Moto Edge X30 Edition Under-Screen Camera, Which Could Launch Soon

Motorola has been releasing a slew of smartphones at various price points recently. Late last year, the Lenovo-owned company released the Moto Edge X30, which was the first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Since then, the company has released a slew of G-series smartphones across the globe. In China, Motorola may now release a new Moto X30 variant.

The new X30 model will come with an under-screen camera. The device’s release was teased by Chen Jin, the General Manager of Lenovo’s China Mobile Phone Business.

Soon, Motorola is expected to release the Moto Edge X30 with an under-screen camera. A company executive teased an image, implying that the product would be available soon. Motorola released the X30 with a hole-punch display last year. The under-screen camera variant, which was also teased at the event, will be released soon.

On the retail box, there are no details. The device is expected to have the same 60MP front camera under the display panel. The rest of the device’s specs are likely to stay the same.

In that case, the device will have a 6.7-inch Full HD+ POLED display. It will have a maximum brightness of 700 nits and a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display on the phone is also HDR10+ certified and has a 144Hz refresh rate.

Inside will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage are expected in the model with the under-screen camera. It will have a 5,000mAh battery and a 68W fast charging capability.

The back of the premium Motorola smartphone will feature a triple-camera setup. The main camera sensor will be 50 megapixels with optical image stabilization. For shooting ultrawide images, a 50MP sensor will be included. Finally, a 2MP macro shooter will complete the back camera setup.

The phone comes with Android 12 pre-installed and a layer of MyUI 3.0 on top. There’s a USB Type-C charging port on the side, as well as Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and other connectivity options. This device does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is 163.56 x 75.95 x 8.49mm in size and weighs approximately 194 grams.
