Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 laptop models ahead of CES 2022, which starts on January 5. The new ThinkPad models are powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors and come with Windows 11 pre-installed. The ThinkPad Z13 features a 13.3-inch OLED display, while the ThinkPad Z16 features a 16-inch OLED display. Dolby Vision, low blue-light emission support, and a Dolby Atmos speaker system with Dolby Voice are all included in both models. The TrackPoint now has a new ‘double-tap functionality’ that launches the Communication QuickMenu, which gives you quick access to camera and microphone settings.
Lenovo has also added a new Lenovo Smart Clock Essential to its smart home lineup, which includes built-in Alexa and an optional Ambient Light Dock. Updates have also been made to the Lenovo Smart Frame.
Price and availability for the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 and ThinkPad Z16
When the ThinkPad Z13 is released, it will cost $1,549 USD (roughly Rs. 1,15,600). When it goes on sale, the ThinkPad Z16 will cost $2,099 USD (roughly Rs. 1,56,700 ). Both models will be available for purchase starting in May. Arctic Grey and Bronze are said to be the two colours available.
The new ThinkPad laptop models have yet to receive international pricing or availability information from Lenovo.
Specifications for the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 has a 13.5-inch IPS OLED 2.8K (2,880 x 1,620pixels) display with 400 nits of peak brightness, a 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It also supports low blue light emission. The ThinkPad Z13 comes preloaded with Windows 11, Dolby Vision, and a Dolby Atmos speaker system.
The ThinkPad Z13 is powered by an AMD Ryzen Pro U-Series processor with integrated AMD Radeon graphics. An AMD Ryzen Pro processor is also available for the ThinkPad Z13. It can hold up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage is included.
The Microsoft Pluton security processor is used in the ThinkPad Z13, and a match-on-chip fingerprint reader is integrated into the keyboard for added security. Lenovo has added an infrared full-HD camera with dual-array microphones and an aperture of f/2.0, as well as eShutter, to the new laptop.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, LTE 4G, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. It also has two USB 4.0 Type-C ports and a backlit keyboard. The audio is handled by speakers that support Dolby Atmos and Dolby’s voice AI noise cancellation technology. By double-tapping the TrackPoint icon, users can quickly access the Communication QuickMenu. This gives them access to camera and microphone settings that are commonly used.
In apps like Teams and Zoom, Lenovo claims that the ThinkPad Z13’s 50Wh battery with Rapid Charge fast charging support can deliver “incredible battery life.” Its dimensions are 294.4×199.6×13.99mm, and it weighs 1.25kg.
Specifications for the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16
As previously stated, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 features a 16-inch IPS OLED 4K (3,840×2,160 pixels) display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 92.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a peak brightness of 400 nits. The ThinkPad Z16, like the ThinkPad Z13, has Dolby Vision support and low blue light.
In the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16, the AMD Ryzen Pro processor is combined with AMD Radeon graphics or optional AMD Radeon discrete graphics. Up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe SSD storage are supported. This laptop also includes a Microsoft Pluton security processor.
A Dolby Atmos speaker system and Dolby Voice AI noise cancellation are included with the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16. The keyboard also includes a match-on-chip fingerprint reader. In the new device, Lenovo has included a 70Wh battery.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 has a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E, LTE 4G, Bluetooth 5.2, three USB 4.0 Type-C ports, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack among its connectivity options. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 measures 354.4×237.4x 15.8mm and weighs 1.97kg.
The new ThinkPad Z series laptops are said to be made of recycled aluminium and vegan leather. The packaging for the devices is said to be made of bamboo and sugarcane, both of which are recyclable and compostable.
