We learned last month that Lenovo was working on a new gaming phone, and recent teasers indicate that the company is also working on a tablet. Lenovo will release the Legion Y90 Gaming Phone and Legion Y700 Gaming Tablet as part of its Legion lineup.
The official Lenovo Legion Weibo account recently posted a short teaser video of the Legion Y50, which confirms that the phone will look similar to the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 from last year.
The Lenovo Legion Y90 has an eye-catching design
The video shows the back of the phone, with the camera module in the center rather than near the top. There’s a dual-camera setup, and the camera module section appears to be used for other purposes, such as thermal vents. There’s also a Y-shaped RGB light, an LED flash, and Legion branding.
The Lenovo Legion Y90, on the other hand, has a front that looks similar to most regular smartphones but without a notch or punch-hole. Rather, it appears that the front-facing camera is housed within the top bezel. The display on the phone is flat with rounded corners.
According to previous teasers, the Lenovo Legion Y90 will have two USB-C ports. Like any other smartphone, a USB-C port will be on the phone’s left edge, and another will be at the bottom. The volume control knobs are on the left, and the SIM card slot is on the bottom.
The hardware is still a mystery
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC is expected to power the Lenovo Legion Y90, along with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. There will also be a massive 6.92-inch Samsung E4 HDDR AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. Some sources mention Double Engine Air Cooling technology over the phone. However, Lenovo hasn’t said much about it, but the gaming phone is expected to be released soon.
