The Honor Magic V foldable phone is set to debut in China on January 10th, 2022. It will be Honor’s first foldable smartphone, as well as the world’s first foldable device to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Ishan Agarwal, a reputable tipster, has teamed up with MySmartPrice to share the Magic V’s leaked renders and specifications.
Like the recently announced foldable OPPO Find N, Xiaomi MIX Fold, Huawei Mate X2, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Magic V will have an inward folding design. It will have an 8-inch foldable display, three 50-megapixel cameras, and a large battery with fast charging capabilities. The pricing of the two Magic V variants has been revealed in a separate leak from China.
Specifications for the Honor Magic V (rumored)

According to the new leak, the Honor Magic V will have a 6.45-inch OLED cover display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a pixel density of 431ppi. The device’s 7.9-inch foldable OLED screen has a resolution of 2,272 x 1,984 pixels, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a pixel density of 381ppi. The Magic V’s cover and inner screen have a punch-hole design, according to leaked renders.
On the cover display of the Magic V is a 42-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The device’s inner display may also have the same camera. A 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel spectrum enhanced camera could be included in the Magic V’s rear-facing camera setup.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 device will have 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of native storage. It will have a 4,750mAh battery with 66W fast charging capability. When folded, the device will measure 160.4 x 72.7 x 14.3mm and weigh 293 grams. It measures 160.4 x 141.1 x 6.7mm when fully unfolded. The Magic V will be available in three colours: orange (leatherback), black, and white, as shown in the above rendering.
Pricing for Honor Magic V (rumored)
According to a leak from Chinese tipster WHY LAB, the Magic V will be available in two variants: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. These models will be priced at RMB 13,999 (Rs 1,63,100) and RMB 14,999 (Rs 1,74,700), respectively. It’s unclear if the device will be available in markets other than China.
