Google is rumored to be working on a Pixel smartwatch. The high-end wearable was expected to be unveiled at Google’s Pixel 6 launch event in the US. Even though this did not happen, the device was expected to be released in 2022, according to rumors. Any information about the Pixel Watch has yet to be confirmed by Google.
Meanwhile, thanks to a new leak from tipster Jon Prosser, the Pixel Watch’s possible launch date has been revealed. In the past, Google smartwatch design renders have also been leaked.
The launch date for the Pixel Watch has been set
In the first half of 2022, the Google Pixel Watch could be released. The smartwatch could be unveiled on May 26th, according to a new Prosser leak. The tipster also mentioned that Google has a habit of pushing dates back. As a result, the smartwatch’s release date may be subject to change based on subsequent developments.
In April 2022, Prosser allegedly gave us the first look at the upcoming Pixel smartwatch. The device’s marketing images have also been leaked, which corresponds to the design renders that have been leaked. Based on the leaked information, the Google smartwatch appears to be quite high-end. It will have a circular display with no bezels. The smartwatch is known as ‘Rohan’ within the company.
There will be two colour options for the watch: black and silver. Google is planning to offer nearly 20 different types of watch straps. It will come with Google’s WearOS smartwatch operating system pre-installed. The user interface will be controlled by a crown on the right edge of the watch. A microphone cutout is also located on the left edge.
One of the leaked marketing images shows the user interface for heart rate monitoring. Another image revealed an integrated Google Maps route, implying that the Pixel watch could be used to navigate.
