The OnePlus Nord lineup debuted in 2020, targeting the Rs. 20,000-35,000 price range. According to a report by 91mobiles in collaboration with Yogesh Brar, the company plans to enter the Indian market with an upcoming Nord series handset in the under Rs 20,000 segment. The OnePlus Nord CE, which starts at Rs 22,999, is the company’s most affordable handset right now. The company will make a final decision on the upcoming budget handset in Q2 2022, according to the report.
The OnePlus Nord will have a 90Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP camera!
The upcoming budget handset in the Nord series will have a 90Hz AMOLED display. Aside from that, the OnePlus will have a primary camera with a high-resolution 50MP sensor. The upcoming budget Nord series device may also use a MediaTek chipset with 5G connectivity. This indicates that the phone will run on a MediaTek Dimensity processor.
The handset is still in the early stages of development, according to the 91mobiles report, so more information on specifications is unavailable. Yogesh reveals that if OnePlus decides to go ahead with the budget phone plan, it will be released after the OnePlus Nord 3. As a result, the phone is unlikely to be released before July 2022.
If OnePlus goes ahead with its plans, this will be the third Nord series handset to launch in India in 2022. OnePlus already has budget handsets in the Nord lineup, such as the Nord N100 and Nord 200 5G, but they will not be available in India.
The OnePlus Nord 2 CE is set to be released in India next month for those who are unaware. The Nord 2 CE is said to have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a triple-camera setup with 64 megapixels. The Nord 2 CE will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. It will be able to charge at a 65W rate as well.
