The Find N, Oppo’s upcoming foldable smartphone, has been officially confirmed. In an open letter, Pete Lau, the company’s current chief product officer and former CEO of OnePlus, confirmed that the Oppo Find N will be released on December 15. On the second day of Oppo Inno Day 2021, the company’s annual event will be the latter. In a tweet, Oppo teased the smartphone’s appearance, giving us a good idea of what to expect.
“Previously, smartphone evolution was centered on the display panel,” Lau writes in his open letter, “first combining a small display with a large keyboard, then evolving to today’s full-screen smartphones.” The smartphone experience, however, has come to a halt in an age when everyone has a phone with the same features. If we can find a way to break through the bottleneck of smartphone displays, we could revolutionize efficiency and interactivity once more.”

“The first generation of the Find N prototype was born internally as early as April 2018.” “Even though a few other brands have already introduced foldable devices to the market, barriers such as utility, durability, and user experience continue to prevent foldable devices from becoming a more viable daily driver for most people,” he says.
According to rumors, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC will power the Oppo Find N. It may have an 8-inch LTPO display on the inside that folds inwards, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold series of smartphones. A bump on the back of the smartphone’s outer shell for the camera housing can also be seen in Lau’s folded image. More information, such as software enhancements Oppo may have made to the smartphone to improve app continuity experiences, is still unknown.
The company’s first in-house neural processing unit (NPU) and a new generation of smart augmented reality glasses will also be showcased at Oppo Inno Day 2021. Oppo will also demonstrate its “digital humans” vision and concept, as well as a retractable smartphone camera.
