Apple is working on its Apple Watch lineup for 2022, according to a Bloomberg report by journalist Mark Gurman, and new information has surfaced. The Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen is expected to be released alongside the Apple Watch 8.
The Apple Watch SE, which was released in September 2020, was created for people who only wanted the Apple Watch’s most basic features, such as an always-on display, blood oxygen sensor, and ECG. Apple hasn’t updated the iPhone SE in a long time, but it appears that the company is working on bringing the Watch SE 2nd Gen to those who want the design, look, and feel of the Apple Watch at a lower price.
What we know about the Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen’s ‘Rugged’ Sports Edition
At this time, nothing is known about the 2nd Gen Watch SE. Some of the advanced features, as well as a slightly different design, are expected to make their way into it. That’s not all; there’s more. Apple may release a new rugged Apple Watch alongside the 2nd Gen Watch SE, aimed at sports fans and professional athletes.

Given that Apple has been collaborating with Nike to create limited-edition Apple Watch Series 7 and SE models with custom watch faces and bands, this isn’t entirely surprising. The new rugged Apple Watch may have a more durable case to protect it from dents and scratches, as well as the ability to withstand falls and impacts.
The Apple Watch 8, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch 3 are the most recent models, with the Apple Watch 8 being the most recent. Apple’s collaboration with Nike also resulted in the Apple Watch Series 7 and SE models. However, it’s unclear whether the upcoming rugged Apple Watch will be a limited-edition item or a regular model. We may have to wait a few months longer to find out.
