As part of Samsung’s CES 2022 portfolio, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will now be launched in January 2022. In contrast to previous rumors that the device had been shelved due to a recurring chipset supply shortage, SamMobile’s latest source report claims that the device will now be unveiled at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. According to new reports, the ‘affordable’ version of Samsung’s flagship smartphone series will go on sale just weeks after its announcement in early January – which also happens to be the event’s dates.
Expected specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
Most reports have listed a significant number of features that the Galaxy S21 FE is expected to have in terms of overall specifications. The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, giving it flagship performance credentials. By the time the 888 Plus is released, Qualcomm is expected to have released its next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 895 or 898, making the 888 Plus a generation-old processor. Regardless, the S21 FE is expected to have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, putting it on par with flagship-level specs.
The phone is expected to have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is becoming more common in lower-cost smartphones. Slim bezels around the display and a centrally aligned drill hole slot for the front camera are also included. Red, orange, white, lavender, mint, and navy are the six colours expected for the phone. A triple rear camera system with a 64MP main sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, and a depth sensor is also expected. There is also expected to be a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging capability.
All of the usual connectivity features, such as 5G and dual-band Wi-Fi, should be present. More information should be available soon, given that the launch is expected in the coming months.
