Redmi K50 series could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 SoC

Xiaomi is getting ready to launch the Redmi K50 series. The company plans to release some smartphones in China under the Redmi K50 brand. These devices could be branded differently in India and other markets. Three smartphones could be released in China as part of the K50 series. Among them are the Redmi K50, K50 Pro, and K50 Pro+. Xiaomi has yet to confirm the official launch date. Ahead of its launch, some key details about the upcoming Redmi flagship have leaked online.

Specifications of the Redmi K50 series performance units have been leaked

The Redmi K50 series is set to launch in China early next year, if not in December 2021. The performance unit specifications of the Redmi flagship have been revealed in a new leak released ahead of the launch. According to MyDrivers, one of the Redmi K50 series flagship smartphones will include MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 2000 SoC. Later this year, the flagship MediaTek chip, which will be made in a 4nm process, is expected to be released.

One of the three devices, most likely the vanilla K50, will feature the Dimensity 2000. In the Pro Redmi flagship, the Snapdragon 870 or its successor could be used. Finally, in the top-end, Redmi K50 Pro+, the Snapdragon 898, also known as Snapdragon 8 Gen1, could be used.

The Dimensity 2000 is said to have an AnTuTu score of over a million, which is significantly higher than the Dimensity 1200’s score of around 7,15,000. According to reports, it has a prime core clocked at 3.0GHz and three performance cores clocked at 2.85GHz. The chip’s four efficiency cores will run at 1.8GHz, according to leaked information.

Other details about the K50 Pro+ model had leaked as well. It has a 108MP triple-camera system with a telephoto lens, according to reports. The primary camera on the standard model will be 48 megapixels, while the Pro model will have a 64-megapixel sensor. The Pro+ model will come with a 5000mAh battery and fast charging speeds of up to 100W or 120W. The Pro+ model will, at the very least, have a 120Hz AMOLED display, as expected. It’s also said to have an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.

Redmi has not responded to the leaked specifications in any way. As a result, the leaked information should be treated with caution.
