A lot of information about Cyberpunk 2077 and the next-gen version of the game was revealed during CD Projekt’s most recent investor call. Since its release, the community has been anticipating a next-gen version of CDPR’s action RPG, which was previously set to arrive late in 2021.
However, plans have been pushed back, and it now appears that Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in Q1 of 2022 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The next major update for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released alongside the next-gen version for all current platforms, according to the investor call. The next-gen version will be a free upgrade for those who already own the game on a PS4 or Xbox One.

To keep things on track for the expansion, CD Projekt Red appears to be reducing support for the game. Fans may recall that the studio promised a variety of DLC as well as a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077.
However, before moving on to expansions and multiplayer, there is still a lot of work to be done in terms of support. The next major update will almost certainly bring the game closer to the launch experience that CDPR envisioned. The game’s popularity has recently resurged, as it quickly climbed the sales charts during the Autumn sale and even turned around its Steam ratings.
After a long period of swinging between Mixed and Negative reviews on Steam, the game now has a “Mostly Positive” rating.
