Xiaomi 12 live images have reportedly been leaked, and the launch appears to be imminent

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 12, has reportedly been spotted in live images taken in what appears to be a subway train and shared on Weibo. Because the alleged Xiaomi 12 unit in question was in a protective case when these photos were taken, the phone’s design remains a mystery.

The brand’s upcoming flagship was previously rumored to have a smaller notch for the selfie camera and a slightly curved display, but due to the phone’s dark background, both of these features are impossible to discern in live images. All we can say at this point is that if these images are genuine, the Xiaomi 12 launch could be imminent, and if previous reports are to be believed, the new Xiaomi flagship could arrive as early as mid-December.

Xiaomi 12 is expected to have the following features

A new AMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz is expected to be included in the Xiaomi 12. The device is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset, which will be manufactured using a 4nm fabrication process. Storage will be up to 512GB UFS 3.1 and memory will be up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM.

The phone will most likely ship with Android 12 preinstalled and the MIUI skin on top. The Xiaomi 12 is expected to have a 5,000mAh battery capacity, but it will support 120W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging.

In the camera department, Xiaomi’s flagship phone is expected to have a triple sensor array, with a 50MP primary camera and an ultra-large bottom solution that will allow shooting slow-motion videos at 1920 frames per second. The primary sensor will be assisted by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, allowing for up to 5X optical zoom.

Finally, a third ultra-wide-angle lens with 50 megapixels is expected to be released. According to rumors, the phone will have optical image stabilization, which should allow for excellent video recording. The Xiaomi 12 could have a ceramic body, according to a recently leaked render image. The phone is expected to have curved edges on the front and a punch-hole cutout in the center.
