The new Apple Watch is the same price as the Apple Watch Series 6. Just a few days after the Series 7 went on sale, the rumor mill has shifted its focus to the next-generation Apple Watch. According to a fresh report, the Watch Series 8 will have a new health monitoring sensor.

The Apple Watch Series 8 could be presented alongside the iPhone 14 at the same time. The Watch will be released in about a year, and certain details have already leaked. According to MacRumors, which cites a DigiTimes report, Apple’s Series 8 smartwatch could include a new Blood Glucose Monitoring Sensor. Apple Watch suppliers, according to the insider, are working on short-wavelength infrared sensors for the smartwatch’s back. This innovative sensor will monitor the sugar levels in the wearer’s body. Apple was having trouble adding blood glucose capabilities to the Watch because of its non-invasive technique, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

A study from May 2021 also indicated something similar. Apple plans to release glucose level monitoring next year, according to a Forbes story. The company may introduce its second smartwatch in 2022, which will include blood pressure and alcohol level monitoring.

In iOS 15, Apple added blood glucose highlights to the Health app as a health metric. Users can supply data using external gear. Consumers would no longer need to rely on third-party equipment to keep track of their sugar levels if blood glucose monitoring was implemented. Apple, on the other hand, usually warns that the Watch’s functionalities should not be depended upon and that anyone suffering symptoms should seek medical help.
