In China, the Xiaomi CIVI series of smartphones is expected to debut soon. The company has released teaser posters for the upcoming new smartphone series, indicating a September 27 launch date and time of 2 p.m. This, according to reports, corresponds to a Weibo post by Wei Siqi, the product manager for Xiaomi’s CC series of smartphones, which are typically launched in China. The executive previously stated that she would be hosting a launch event before the end of the month, and speculations now suggest that this is the same event.
While rumors suggested Xiaomi was planning to launch a Mi CC11 series of phones in China, the company’s recent rebranding may have shifted its plans. Xiaomi removed its ‘Mi’ branding from all commercial products that bore it in global markets. Instead, the company has decided to use its full company name, ‘Xiaomi,’ as the logo on its high-end smartphones, televisions, smart home products, and other products. The switch from the Mi CC series of phones to the Xiaomi CIVI could also be part of this strategy.
Expected Specifications of Xiaomi CIVI
The Xiaomi CIVI series phones are expected to come in two versions: a standard version and a ‘Pro’ version. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC is expected to power the standard CIVI smartphone, which will come in three RAM and storage configurations: 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB of memory and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of storage. It is expected to have a 6.55-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, as well as a 64-megapixel rear camera and a 20-megapixel front camera. All of this is expected to be powered by a 4,150mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and the smartphone is expected to be only 6.81mm thick and 157g in weight.
A ‘Pro’ variant, on the other hand, may include a higher-end processor, such as the Snapdragon 888, as well as a larger battery. More information should be available next week, and unless Xiaomi makes a significant change in strategy, the Xiaomi CIVI phones will only be available in China.
