In India, Samsung recently released the Galaxy Watch 4 series. The standard Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic are the two new smartwatches released by Samsung. Both smartwatches follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch 2 Active. Despite having a small smartwatch lineup, Samsung has managed to dominate the Indian smartwatch market. According to an IDC report, Samsung’s smartwatch shipments increased by 860 percent year over year, propelling the company to the top of the Indian market.
Samsung had a 41.2 percent volume market share in the June quarter, according to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker report. It achieved the milestone with the Galaxy Watch 3 from last year and the Galaxy Watch 2 Active from two years ago. With the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4 series this year, Samsung has refreshed its lineup. Both smartwatches have a slew of new features and improvements over previous models. In India, Samsung has begun taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch 4 series. Starting September 10, both wearables will be available for purchase.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are available in two versions: Bluetooth and LTE. The standard Watch 4 Bluetooth version costs Rs 23,999, while the LTE version costs Rs 28,999. The Bluetooth model of the Galaxy Watch 4 44mm costs Rs 26,999, while the LTE model costs Rs 31,999. It is available in three colors: black, green, and silver.
The 42mm Bluetooth model of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic starts at Rs 31,999 in India. The LTE version costs Rs 36,999. Bluetooth and LTE versions of the 46mm variant are also available. They are respectively priced at Rs 34,999 and Rs 39,999.
The Classic edition has a rotating bezel that can be used to navigate through the menu, which is the most noticeable difference between the two. The standard Watch 4 has an aluminum case, whereas the Classic edition has a stainless steel case. Both watches feature Samsung’s new Exynos W920 chip, which is manufactured in a 5nm process. It has 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The 40mm and 42mm models have a 247 mAh battery, while the 44mm and 46mm models have a 361 mAh battery.
