Samsung Galaxy Flex Note Foldable Smartphone With Fold-Out Display and S Pen

Samsung recently unveiled its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. Apart from the regular S-Series flagships, Samsung appears to be in the foldable smartphone league, ditching the Galaxy Note lineup. Hardcore Galaxy Note Series fans, on the other hand, maybe relieved to learn that Samsung has not yet killed the device. Instead, the Galaxy Note Series could get a major facelift. According to the most recent trademark and patent application, this is the case. As a result, the Galaxy Note’s reincarnation will most likely be known as Flex Note.

What is the Samsung Galaxy Flex Note, exactly?

Samsung Display has applied to CNIPA for a new design patent after registering a trademark for the name Flex Note in July of this year (China National Intellectual Property Administration). Let’sGoDigital was the first to access the documentation, which included 30 product images, on September 21, 2021. Except for the camera system, two Samsung smartphones appear to be nearly identical in the documentation.

It’s for a Samsung phone with a foldable screen and an S Pen. Because the phone’s display can fold out and wrap-around, the device appears to be a regular smartphone in its compact form, with its large display folding and wrapping around to the back from the right side. Around half of the back panel is covered by the wrap-around display.

The Samsung Galaxy Flex Note is equipped with an S Pen

This display can be unfolded to transform the phone into a tablet. The S Pen is housed in a magnetic cavity on the phone’s back, and it seems like a great idea to use this magnetic chamber to keep the S-Pen in place and not fall out as the display unfolds.

When a user unfolds the display, however, he will notice a thickness difference between one half of the back panel and the other side, which houses the folding wrap-around display. The thickness of the Galaxy Flex Note is uniform when used as a phone.

Different Camera Systems

Different camera systems are shown in the two models. There is no camera in the first image, neither on the back nor on the display. A dual punch-hole camera system is included in the second model. As a result, we can expect Samsung to use an in-display camera system on one model while using a punch-hole camera system on the other.

The punch-hole camera is located in the top right corner of the flexible screen, which means that when the device is folded, the front screen will be free of cameras. This type of design will also allow the dual-camera setup to be used for traditional photography or video capture. The dual-camera, on the other hand, can be used for selfies and video calls.

Samsung Galaxy Flex Note’s Future

After a lukewarm start, Samsung’s folding phone is slowly gaining traction among those who are interested in folding phones. Such design patents and trademarks only serve to show that Samsung is planning to expand its foldable phone lineup with a variety of designs and mechanisms. It’s unclear whether the Samsung Galaxy Flex Note will make it to store shelves or not, but for fans of the Galaxy Note series, this could be the start of something new.
