iQOO Z5 Launched With 120Hz Refresh Rate Display, Snapdragon 778G

In China, iQOO has unveiled the new Z5 5G. The iQOO Z3 5G has been replaced by a new mid-range smartphone with upgraded internals. Under the hood, the phone now has a more powerful Snapdragon 778G SoC. On the back, it has a triple-camera setup. On September 27, the device will be available in India. Following its launch in India, iQOO has already confirmed that the phone will be available for purchase through Amazon India. In India, the device is expected to cost less than Rs 25,000. 

iQOO Z5 launched in China

In China, iQOO has released the Z5 5G. The device is available in three storage capacities, with the base model costing CNY 1,799 in China (roughly Rs 20,500). Users get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the price. The device is also available in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB storage configurations, with prices starting at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 23,900) and CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs 26,200). Twilight Dawn, Blue Origin, and Dream Space are the three colors available.

After taxes and other charges, we can expect the device to cost around Rs 25,000 in India. The device’s launch in India has already been confirmed by iQOO for September 27.

The Z5 5G has a tall 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. For the front camera, the phone has a tiny hole punch cutout. The display has up to 650 nits of brightness, HDR10, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a 120Hz refresh rate, among other features.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. Under the hood, it has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Out of the box, there’s a 5000 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.

A triple-camera setup on the back of the phone includes a 64MP primary camera. An 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP tertiary sensor are also included. A 16MP front camera is available for selfies.

The phone comes pre-installed with the Android 11-based Origin OS for iQOO. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint scanner on the side. The phone has a USB-C port, as well as 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and other features.
