According to a tweet from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 could be released in India on August 20th. For the launch of the next-generation foldable offering in the country, the South Korean brand is teaming up with Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt.
Samsung did not reveal the launch date directly, but responded to Alia Bhatt on Twitter with, “A special delivery coming your way on August 20th.” Choose your Foldable by unfolding it!’ The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 have also been listed on Flipkart and Amazon micro pages, indicating that they will be available on both platforms.

On August 11th, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, as well as the Galaxy Watch 4 series and Galaxy Buds 2. It’s unclear whether the accessories will be announced on August 20th in India as well.
Specifications and features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3
The external AMOLED display on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is 6.3 inches, while the internal screen is 7.6 inches. The device can be folded horizontally and both displays offer HD+ and QXGA+ resolutions. The Galaxy Z Flip, on the other hand, can be folded vertically and has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel on the inside. With a 1.9-inch sAMOLED display, the device has a dual-tone back panel.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 have a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front. The foldable smartphones have an IPX8-certified body, a fingerprint scanner on the side, and Dolby Atmos, stereo speakers. S-Pen is also compatible with the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a vertically stacked triple rear camera setup that includes a 12MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP zoom unit. The exterior display has a 10MP punch-hole camera, while the interior screen has a 4MP under-display camera. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 also has dual 12MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide-angle cameras that are vertically aligned. A 10MP selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout on the front.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are both powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage on the inside. The former is powered by a 4,400mAh battery, while the latter is powered by a 3,300mAh cell with 25W and 15W fast charging capabilities, respectively. Both devices can charge at a rate of 10 watts per second. Out of the box, the foldable smartphones run on OneUI 3.1, which is based on Android 11.
