The Realme 8i is expected to be released soon, and it is expected to be a device from the company’s mid-budget segment. Now, a large leak appears to have revealed key specifications, as well as official press, renders of the phone. The Realme 8i appears to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, which is a follow-up to the older premium gaming chip, the Helio G95, according to a report by Digit on the subject.
The press renders in question show a fairly standard design, complete with a faux glass back with gleaming aesthetics and a gradient paint finish. The device’s back appears to have dual-curved edges to aid ergonomics, and the square camera module is located in the upper left corner. The fingerprint sensor appears to be built into the phone’s power button on the right edge. The device also has a USB-C port, and Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 are likely to be included. The report, on the other hand, makes no mention of 5G connectivity.
The Realme 8i is expected to come with a 50MP triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth unit, and a 2MP macro unit, among other things. The device’s front appears to have a drill hole slot in the top left corner, which is said to house a 16MP front camera. The display is said to be 6.43 inches in size and will most likely be an AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The Realme 8i is expected to have a 5,000mAh battery, but no information on the phone’s fast charging technology has been released.
At an upcoming event, the Realme 8i is expected to be unveiled alongside the Realme 8s. When the smartphones are released, they are almost certain to be priced under Rs 20,000. Given that Realme already sells the Realme 8 5G in India for around Rs 15,000, the two upcoming midrange devices will be interesting to see how they are priced in the country.
