OnePlus is working on the OnePlus Nord 2, its next-generation smartphone, which it teased just yesterday. The company has now officially confirmed that the smartphone will be released on July 22nd. In a community forum, the company announced that the new smartphone will be released later this month. The OnePlus Nord 2 will be an upgrade to the previous OnePlus Nord and will be a significant upgrade. This will be OnePlus’ first smartphone with a Mediatek processor. The Mediatek Dimensity 1200 has been confirmed for the Nord 2. It could also have a 50MP triple camera setup, a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, and other features. The OnePlus Nord 2 will be released in India on July 22nd
The next version of the Nord will be released by OnePlus. In a community post, the company confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 2 will be released on July 22nd in India and Europe. The phone’s teaser page is live on Amazon, indicating that it will be available only through Amazon in India. On the next generation of the Nord, OnePlus confirmed that it is working closely with Mediatek to improve the user experience and performance.
Specifications and Expected Pricing for the OnePlus Nord 2
A 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a single-hole punch cutout will be featured on the OnePlus Nord 2. The display will have a 90Hz refresh rate and a fingerprint scanner built-in. It was also listed with 8GB of RAM on the AI Benchmark website. According to the teaser, the alert slider on the Nord 2 will be retained by OnePlus.
The Nord 2 will be powered by a Dimensity 1200 AI SoC, which will be a new AI-focused Dimensity 1200, according to OnePlus.
A triple-camera setup is expected on the device. It will feature a Sony IMX766 sensor with 50 megapixels, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a second 2-megapixel sensor. The Nord 2 will have a 32MP selfie camera hidden inside a punch-hole notch. It will have a 4,500mAh battery and support for 30W fast charging. Out of the box, the Nord 2 will run Oxygen OS 11, which is based on Android 11.
