Key details of the rumored Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 have been revealed in a new Weibo leak. For the first time in three years, the latter is expected to be Xiaomi’s first smartphone in this experimental, premium series of devices, in the regular mobile device format – excluding the Mi Mix Fold, of course. However, given that the Mi Mix 4 has always included some unique or premium features, the leak suggests that things will remain the same this year. The device’s main feature will reportedly be an under-display front camera, which will not compromise the overall display quality.
The expected price of Mi Mix 4
Surprisingly, the leak, which was posted by a user on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, also revealed the smartphone’s potential pricing, which is unusual for any early-stage leak. According to the Weibo post, the Mi Mix 4 will reportedly cost more than Xiaomi’s current flagship smartphone, the Mi 11 Ultra. If the leak is to be believed, the Mix 4 should cost much more than the Mix 2, which is currently priced at Rs 69,999 in India. This places the device squarely in the premium flagship category, which isn’t surprising given Xiaomi’s history of treating its Mix series differently than the rest of its lineup.
Specifications to be expected
The Mi Mix 4 will have an under-display front camera for selfies, according to the leak. Although this relatively new technology has been demonstrated in a near-production-ready state, roadblocks still exist in terms of the display panel that can be used, the maximum resolution that it can achieve, and so on. On that note, while the display panel may not have a 2K+ screen resolution, the leak claims that Xiaomi will use a custom display panel with a resolution higher than full HD.
It will also keep the true full-screen experience that has been a central pitch of the Mix series since the beginning, with equal-sized bezels on all sides and super-thin bezels on all sides for a premium viewing experience.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4,500mAh battery, and 120W fast charging are among the other features. The leak does not mention the use of Xiaomi’s recently announced 200W fast charging standard, though the final feature set may differ by the time the Mi Mix 4 is released.
