Carl Pei, a co-founder of OnePlus, left the company last year to found and lead Nothing. Pei’s new company’s unusual name generated a lot of buzz on social media. In anticipation of Nothing’s first product, the CEO kept everyone on their toes. Pei later confirmed that the company’s first truly wireless earbuds (TWS) would be released in June 2021. Multiple times, details about the upcoming TWS have been teased and leaked. By the end of June, the company was expected to unveil its first product. However, if you are eagerly anticipating it, you may have to wait longer.
Carl Pei: launch of Nothing, which was supposed to happen in June, has been postponed
Nothing’s first launch has been postponed, according to Carl Pei, the company’s CEO. The TWS was set to debut in June of 2021. Pei did not provide an explanation for the delay. The Ear 1 TWS will be available later this summer, according to the CEO. According to Pei, a “few things remain to be finalized,” so the company has decided to postpone the launch. At the time of writing, there is no firm date for the Ear 1’s release.
So far, the company has been tight-lipped about the product. Some key elements of Concept 1, which were teased in March 2021, are expected to appear in the TWS. Weightless, Timeless, and Effortless were the three principles that guided the creation of the concept. “The design is still a trade secret, but Ear 1 combines notes of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality,” says the company. It’s the starting point for the artistry, confidence, and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come,” Pei said.
Model number B181 has previously been listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website for Ear 1. The batteries from the charging case were later discovered on the BIS. The model numbers B181-C and B181-1 were assigned to these power banks.
In July, the company is expected to unveil its new product. What do you hope to get out of Nothing’s first release? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
