LG has officially abandoned the smartphone market and this has opened up an opportunity for many manufacturers in South Korea. This is because it was considered the manufacturer’s largest market and many consumers are likely to be orphaned by the options offered by the company. Noting the growth opportunity, Samsung and Apple are launching special promotions to exchange LG smartphones. The consumer only needs to hand over his LG cell phone to get a favorable discount on a Galaxy or iPhone.
Samsung will accept the exchange of old LG smartphones for devices of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G lines.

Of course, the company must evaluate the value of the old cell phone before proceeding with the exchange. Even so, if the consumer does not want to exchange his LG smartphone, he can still get a discount of 150 thousand won (~ R $ 715) on the purchase of any Galaxy
The most curious case, however, is – without a doubt – that of Apple. The Cupertino giant is known for not doing this kind of exchange program with cell phones from other brands. Therefore, the offer is only valid in South Korea.
Apple will also accept LG phones in exchange for any iPhone 12. The company is granting the same discount of 150 thousand won ( $ 135), and its offer is valid until September 25th.
For now, we do not know if the companies’ actions will succeed in winning over LG users. Even so, market analysts say that each wants to grab 10% of the market share to prevent Chinese manufacturers from gaining strength in the country.
