Galaxy Z Fold 3 powered by the Snapdragon 888

IceUniverse declares – contrary to what it had previously said – that Samsung’s foldable will be powered by the Snapdragon 888.

A rumor just leaked on the Net states that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will arrive with the Snapdragon 888 onboard: here are all the details.

Z Fold 3: which chip?

Recently, some rumors have emerged that Samsung’s next folding – the Galaxy Z Fold 3 – would not have the Snapdragon 888 under the hood, but be equipped with a still unreleased processor. However, well-known leaker IceUniverse just tweeted that the phone will come with Qualcomm’s aforementioned top-of-the-range chipset on board.

After the tipster declared that the flagship Snapdragon 888 would not enrich the South Korean foldable, most had assumed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would be powered by the Exynos 9925 or, at most, the Snapdragon 888+ (both of these processors have not yet been announced).

In addition to the name of the alleged SoC that we will see under the hood of the fold, the leaker claims that the Z Fold 3 is about 13g lighter than the Z Fold 2.

Previous rumors also say that the smartphone will have a smaller display and battery than its predecessor: the 3C certification suggests that the Chinese variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with model number SM-F9160 will be equipped with a double-cell battery from 2215 mAh + 2060 mAh. It will offer a combined nominal capacity of 4,275mAh; in comparison, the Z Fold 2 has a 4,500 mAh battery.

As for the display, the current device has a 7.6-inch screen and a 6.23-inch external panel; the Z Fold3 may have a slightly small 7.5-inch display and a 6.23-inch screen. It is rumored that the device will be the first folding of the Asian giant to arrive with support for the S Pen.

While waiting to see it live, we remind you that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could be presented to the world in the month of July.
