Samsung Galaxy S22 may not have the ToF sensor on board

The next Samsung Galaxy S22 may not have the ToF sensor on board: this being the case, they will not be able to compete with Sony, which supplies it to Apple.

As it turns out, the next Galaxy S22 may not have the ToC sensor on board – here’s what we know.

Samsung Galaxy S22 without ToF

In addition to its upcoming leaflets, Samsung has also started work on other mid-range smartphones that are expected to be introduced in the coming months. For the next year, of course, a new Galaxy S series will also be announced which could include a standard Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 +, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra (the latter could be equipped with S-Pen support).

The first details of these terminals are already emerging, including the idea that the company will not equip them with ToF technology, probably because it is not really necessary.

However, Samsung’s decision to no longer use ToF means that System LSI’s business will be affected: around 300 million phones from the South Korean giant – this being the case – will not be able to compete with Sony, which supplies the ToF sensor to Apple. for his iPads and iPhones.

In the meantime, we remind you that, according to the latest rumors and according to what Ice Universe declares, the Galaxy S22 could have Olympus cameras. Unfortunately, neither Samsung nor Olympus have commented on the indiscretion in any way and we are unable to tell you if the companies have agreed to a partnership or are alone, and therefore negotiating. We also add that it is not clear what contribution the Olympus specialists will make, but it seems that the South Korean giant wants in every way to end Sony’s dominance in the market of image sensors for phones.

Finally, it seems that this year we could see a 200-megapixel configuration on a Samsung device: what will it be?
