Xiaomi: first foldable smartphone will launch on March 29

According to what is learned on the net in these hours, it seems that Xiaomi has unofficially confirmed the arrival of its first foldable on March 29.

Xiaomi has already scheduled its event for the launch of new products in 2021 on March 29 and the company has confirmed that it will present the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra smartphones during the show itself. Along with that, it will also launch its new Mi Notebook Pro and, if the latest reports are to be believed, we will probably also see the brand’s first foldable.

Xiaomi: finally the folding is coming

A new report just leaked claims that Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone has already passed the 3C certification process, which means that the launch of the aforementioned product is imminent. As there is a big launch event on March 29, the announcement could take place later in the day.

Xiaomi foldable phone

While not much is known about Xiaomi’s first foldable, it is believed that the phone may be part of the Mi Mix range, which the company uses for its more extreme and experimentally designed devices. This future device (obviously 5G-ready) will probably have a hinged design similar to that seen on the Galaxy Z Fold2, which allows you to fold the display inwards. In a nutshell, Mi Mix 4 will also be similar to Huawei’s new folding.

We know the smartphone will come with a display size of around 7 inches with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and feature a 108MP main camera sensor in the triple camera module. It could run Android 11-based MIUI 12 and pack a 5,000mAh battery.

We expect more details regarding the upcoming foldable smartphone to emerge online in the coming days, ahead of the official launch. Stay connected with us to find out more.
