Recall that in September 2020, ZTE released the first mass-produced Axon 20 5G phone with an under-screen camera. But since the results were not acceptable, we cannot consider it as a real futuristic device, although ZTE’s effort is to be fully appreciated.
Xiaomi’s plan
It is very likely that Xiaomi will launch a new mass-produced under-screen camera as early as the second half of the year. Additionally, the company executives announced that they had reached the final stage of mass production of the much-acclaimed technology as early as August last year.

Xiaomi’s under-screen camera adopts a new self-developed pixel arrangement and redesigned pixel unit circuit. This can further increase the light transmission of the front of the screen. The performance seems to be in line with that of classic traditional lenses.

In this regard, we assume that the first Xiaomi smartphone equipped with this technology will be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4.
