The Chinese giant has silently launched a new mid-range smartphone on the Chinese market: it’s called OPPO A55 5G and has the Dimensity 700 chip
The Chinese giant OPPO has quietly launched a new cheap 5G smartphone called “ A55 5G ” in China. The new device becomes official a few days after the debut of the A93 5G, the first device in the world with SoC Snapdragon 480. Let’s take a look at the specifications, features, and price of this new phone from the Asian company.
OPPO A55 5G: specifications and features
The new OPPO A55 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor combined with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. If required, the memory can be further expanded up to 1 TB using a MicroSD card.
On the front, the device sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD +) and a teardrop notch. This screen has a 60Hz refresh rate, 60Hz tactile sample rate, 71% NTSC color gamut, 269 PPI, 1500: 480nits peak brightness, and 1 contrast ratio.
Speaking of cameras, it comes with three lenses arranged vertically in a rectangular module: inside is a 13 Megapixel main snapper, a 2 Mpx macro, a 2 Mega sensor for portraits, and the LED flash. On the other hand, on the other hand, there is the 8 Mpx selfie cam.
On the connectivity front, the device supports 5G networks, dual-band WiFi 5 , Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS system (BeiDou, GALILEO, QZSS, GLONASS), has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB port Type-C for fast charging. As for the sensors, the fingerprint is mounted on the side, while, under the screen, we find the compass, the ambient light sensor, the accelerometer, the proximity sensor, and the gyroscope.

Finally, the phone comes with the number of model PEMM00 in two colors ( Rhythm, Black, Blue, Brisk ), measuring 163.9 x 75.7 x 8.4 mm, weighs 186 g, performs colors 11.1 based on Android 11, and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
The OPPO A55 5G is priced at ¥ 1,599 ($ 247 at the exchange rate) in the brand’s country of origin and is currently in pre-order. It could reach global markets in the coming days, as devices powered by MediaTek 5G chipsets have started to be marketed outside mainland China.
