According to the latest report published online by DigiTimes, it seems that the launch of Apple’s new headphones, the AirPods Pro 2, is just around the corner.
According to what is learned on the net, it seems that the launch of the new TWS headphones from Apple, the AirPods Pro 2, is scheduled for April. In fact, it’s no secret that Apple wants to update its line-up of Bluetooth wireless headsets: we know that the new generation of the Classics and the new iteration of the premium model are on their way.
AirPods Pro 2: in April with iPhone SE (2021)?
The second generation of AirPods Pro can be launched in the first half of the year, a new report has claimed. The information comes from anonymous industry sources cited by the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes as part of an article focusing on flash memory vendor Winbond. In fact, we read:
Winbond is also expected to be among the NOR flash vendors for Apple’s next-generation AirPods Pro, slated to launch later in the first half of this year, the sources indicated. The Taiwan-based chip maker will run its NOR flash production lines at near-capacity utilization during the six-month period.
The indiscretion comes shortly after the rumor about the arrival of the second generation TWS Pro headphones together with the iPhone SE (2021) and the iPhone SE Plus.
On an aesthetic level, it appears that the new AirPods Pro 2 may have the same thickness of 21mm, while the height and length are said to be 46mm and 54mm respectively. Simply put, it looks like the design may be slightly different from the predecessor, but not significantly.

Apple is currently rumored to be making the earbuds more compact by eliminating the small stem that has emerged from below. To date, the aforementioned design is being tested with a more rounded shape that fills the user’s ear more. Under the body, the new headphones could use the W2 chip. Nevertheless, they might also be available in two sizes.

Together with the Pro model, the Cupertino giant is also working on the successor of the AirPods Classic. According to speculation, it seems that the design of the new earphones will be similar to that of the Pro variant: this means shorter stem and in-ear rubbers. Would you like them?
