The patent images, used as a basis for creating the renderings seen below, present some interesting design elements. The front camera, for example, is located under the screen and not in a notch or hole. However, the most interesting aspect of the design is found in the two mysterious circles at the top. These circles, look like speakers, but in fact, are the wireless headphones built into the device.

The headphones are attached to the device in a similar way to what happens with the Galaxy Note S Pen. The design of the headphones somewhat resembles that of the Xiaomi True Wireless Earbuds line models. The built-in headphones also have a hinge, hence the appearance of speakers when fitted to the phone.

There are still some problems that need to be considered with this design shown in the Xiaomi patent. First, the design will make the phone more susceptible to damage from water or dust. Second, the headphones are generally rounded and relatively thick – something that is very difficult to reconcile with the slim design of a modern smartphone.

The phone itself looks sleek, with an aluminum frame that resembles an earlier iPhone model. It also has a button for volume control and a button to turn on / off the device, along with another button of unknown function. It is possible that the unknown button is one dedicated to the Xiaomi assistant known as Xiao AI or even a button to eject the headphones.

It is worth remembering that a patent does not necessarily mean that the product will reach the market. Even so, the concept of a cell phone with built-in headphones is quite interesting.
