Honor has officially confirmed that the new Play 4 Pro will be equipped with an infrared IR sensor capable of measuring people’s body temperature. The scanner will work on both humans and animals as well as on objects. In a period like this, it will prove to be a somewhat interesting feature.
Honor Play 4 Pro: full of innovative sensors
The Product Manager of the series of devices belonging to the Honor Play family, Wei Xiaolong, also shared a demonstration video on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging portal, showing how the sensor works and how to use it. To test the temperature, users must place the phone in front of the person’s forehead in order to obtain official readings. Xiaolong also tested the sensor on cats, as well as on objects.
The IR infrared temperature measurement system consists of a physical module, lots of electronics, and an optomechanical system that guides the management of infrared radiation on the sensor. By simply collecting the IR energy emitted by the object on which the device is aimed, it is possible to read the data. Further information will be confirmed during the launch event on June 3, where the “little brother” Honor Play 4 will also be presented.

Honor Play 4 Pro is equipped with a 4200 mAh battery with Huawei SuperCharge 40W and a fingerprint scanner placed on the side. The dimensions of the device are 162.7 mm x 75.8 mm with an 8.9 mm thickness. The weight is instead of 213 grams. According to what confirmed by the portal for TENAA certification, Honor Play Pro 4 has a 6.81-inch display in FullHD + resolution with a hole on the left corner of the device, inside which there is a 16 Megapixel camera.
