Xiaomi presents the new Mi Box 4K in India, a multimedia device capable of transforming any TV into a new generation smart TV.

Xiaomi has just presented the brand’s flagship in India, the Mi 10 smartphone, the new Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 smart headphones, and the Mi Box 4K, the first-ever streaming device in the country. According to what the Chinese house claims, the gadget is able to convert any TV into a latest-generation smart TV.
Xiaomi Mi Box 4K: what is it?
Mi Box 4K is a set-top box for televisions, equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and support for the Google assistant. You can connect to your television through the HDMI port on the back of the device. It comes with support for more than 5000 applications including games, streaming services like Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, YouTube, and much more. Like the Mi TV, the Mi Box 4K has also installed by default a data control center to track Internet consumption.
Mi Box 4K: selling price in India
The current price of Mi Box 4K in India is set at R 3,999 and sales will begin on May 11th at 12 in the morning; you can buy it from the online stores of Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Studio and Mi Home.
Mi Box 4K: the technical specifications
Among the technical specifications of the new Xiaomi set-box, we find first of all support for 4K content with HDR quality up to 60 fps. The device is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Cortex A53 CPU, combined with a Mali-450 GPU; 2 GB of RAM is available in the DDR3 format, while 8 are the GB of eMMC memory designed for the installation of external apps.
On the software side, the Mi Box presents Android TV based on Android 9 Pie. Also on board, there is no Bluetooth 4.2 connection; present voice commands with Google Assistant and for Chromecast with screen mirroring of the integrated smartphone. Connectivity is dual-band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, while the available ports are:
- A USB 2.0;
- An outlet for the power cord;
- One HDMI 2.0 port;
- An audio jack output.
