Huawei P30 Pro is coming soon. No, it is not a typo: it is a New Edition, ready to make its debut in mid-May with a lot of GMS on board. And the source is quite authoritative, given that it is the German division of the Chinese brand.
The strategy seems clear: alongside completely new products – see P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus with HMS – the company intends to offer the market “revisited” versions of pre-ban smartphones, therefore with Google apps on board. After all, P30 was a more than appreciated range equipped with a photographic sector that still today has little to envy to the top of the current range and with top autonomy. And, to be honest, it would not even be the first time that Huawei decides to re-propose the smartphone in a new guise: the Mystic Blue and Misty Lavender colors were launched at IFA 2019 to restore luster to a range that, at that time, already had a few months on its shoulders.
On the Huawei Germany website, the words seem to be quite clear and unequivocal: the offer mentioned in the dedicated page will concern P30, P30 Pro, P30 Lite 2020 (coincidentally another example of smartphone updated to include GApps) and, in fact, P30 Pro New Edition, ” in promotion from May 15th to June 4th “.
So we have different information available: first of all that a new P30 Pro is coming, which will be called P30 Pro New Edition, and then that will have the Google application inside it. Last, but not least, is the detail on availability: at this point, there should be no doubt about the release in the middle of the month, therefore in less than two weeks. Uncertainties remain about what will change in terms of aesthetics and hardware compared to the current model: will there be only new colors or will more radical changes be made? Entering the world of speculation, it would not be bad to upgrade RAM and storage, or even further refinement of the photographic sector.
Obviously, Huawei will not be able to overturn the product: a few days are left and we will find out everything.
